We escaped winter for a few days in January to visit the FIMI childrenswear show in Valencia, Spain. As well as a welcome break from the dreary winter weather, this enabled us to order lots of new items for winter 2008/9, including more classic coats from Ancar, with velvet collars and buttons. These have proved very popular in recent years, particularly in navy blue for both boys and girls, so we have made sure that we will have plenty of stock available for next winter and have extended the age range up to 12 years.

We have also ordered some really sweet little hooded coats from Pamela Mestre for younger children.

Other items to come for next winter include tweed breeches with braces from Ancar and a range of tartan garments from a new supplier in Portugal. So look out for these appearing on our website from August onwards.

Returning to Summer, June bought us some warm weather at last and inspired us to put away the winter woolies and to think about our new and exciting collections of summer outfits for baby girls and baby boys.

The new styles for summer have now arrived and are currently being added to our website. These include lots of new suits for little boys from Abella and Pamela Mestre, as well as some new smocked dresses and layette sets from Abella.

A "New Arrivals" page has been set up on our website, where we will be displaying the latest additions to our collections, making it easier for you to see instantly what is new.

We have also added an exciting new range of leather shoes for little girls in a selection of bright colours, as well as pastel shades. These shoes are manufactured in England by Early Days and are beautifully made, with leather uppers, linings and soles.

What started it all, 10 years ago, was the realisation that it was almost impossible to find really nice, affordable christening gowns and accessories on the high street.

A visit to the nearest big town, with a really large shopping centre, revealed just one department store with a few, very sad, rather grubby, long past their "sell by date" gowns at the back of the children's wear department.

So, after a lot of research and hard work, Honfleur Christening Gowns was born, with just 4 silk gowns from Christine Ann and 4 pairs of shoes from Early Days. We opened a bottle of wine to celebrate when, several weeks later, we had our first sale - a pair of "Princess" christening slippers !

"Honfleur" has come a long way since then, the latest addition being a collection of silk Page Boy outfits, from Pamela Mestre, in the most beautiful range of colours - we just couldn't resist them !

"Honfleur" was followed, a couple of years later by "Baby Classics", born of the discovery that, although many parents and grandparents preferred to dress babies and children in good quality, traditional, classically styled clothes, rather than the latest trendy fashions, very few shops sold such clothes, and especially not at an affordable price.

The most recent addition to our websites is christening-gifts.co.uk which has a range of baby gifts starting at just £8.99 and is very popular with customers who haven't got the time to scour the high street, in the hope of finding an original, reasonably priced gift for a new baby or a christening.

Christening-gifts.co.uk has just introduced the "D for Diamond" range of silver bracelets and pendants for baby girls and boys. These are proving to be one of our most popular gifts as each item comes specially packed in its own "D for Diamond" presentation box.
