A really special dress for that Very Special Occasion !
The dress is in heavy cotton velvet with long sleeves, fastened at the cuff with velvet-covered buttons. A half sash ties in a bow at the back.
The front bodice is decorated with interesting smocking and soft pleating, trimmed with tiny rosebuds.
The white collar is embroidered with flowers and is attached to the neck edge with buttons, so that it can be removed for washing.
An underskirt, trimmed with stiff net, adds fullness.
